Attention all my Crafty Chicks!

I have some exciting news!!! I have been writing about crafts for Blissfully Domestic since it began back in February. Next week, it will relaunch and I will be the Editor of the Creative Bliss page. Fun huh?
The best part is, The Apronista is going to be incorporated into Blissfully Domestic! What that means is more posts, more apronistas, and a lot more fun!
This is the part where you come in. We need MORE contributors for the page. It isn’t a paying position, but your posts (with links & bylines) will be seen by over 5,000+ people every day, and if you have a shop, that means LOTS of traffic for you! What I am looking for is tutorials, features, links, guest posts, interviews, reviews, and shopping posts. Know of a bunch of great Etsy shops? Send em my way. Wanna do a reader discount or giveaway? Drop me an email. Have a shop with an Apron that will be worn by Bree on Desperate Housewives? Let me know!!! (I will be featuring one of those tomorrow!)
It doesn’t have to be all about Aprons either – it’s a CREATIVE living page, so send me your non-apron related ideas and tutorials too. If you would like to be a regular contributor for the page, send me an email with what you would like to do, your blog urls (if applicable), and your availability. I am trying to have people only post once a month or so, so it stays fresh & fun.
I am also thrilled to have something in the works with the Secret Stitch Club, so you will have to keep checking back for that too!
I am really excited abou this, and I hope you will be too. More details to come!!

Oy…

…not only did he LIKE school, he LOVES it. He has had his first run-in with a (wanna-be) bully, his first gold star (for making a new friend), and now has a girlfriend (said new friend of the gold star). Now he is ready to take the bus. So instead of getting dressed, and made up, and (semi) conscious to make the 5 minute drive to school, I can now get (semi) dressed, maybe made-up(does lipgloss and sunglasses count?), and (barely) conscious to walk the 15 feet from our door to the bus stop. With coffee in hand. And Bunny Slippers. Ok, I don’t have bunny slippers, but definitely the coffee.

Exciting news! Blissfully Domestic is getting ready to relaunch, and you are looking at the Creative Editor for the page! I have a bunch of talented creative ladies posting for us, and I can’t wait to see the brilliance they come up with! We can always use more crafty minds though, so if you are good with tutorials, links, or just love making stuff, drop me a line and I will get you set up! I will be posting links to all my great contributors once we get a bit closer to the relaunch – you will find some amazing women!

I was planning on updating you a bit on my “A little Less Chicky” project, but since this weekend involved a lot of our favorite people coming over and bringing tons of yummy appetizers, macaroni salad, cream puffs, cookies and 3 (no really, 3!) homemade pies – FRESH peach, banana cream, and apple. So let’s just say that my points and I were not very well acquainted this weekend. Maybe later this week – lol

Thursday Thirteen – The Costco Edition

We decided to rejoin Costco the other day, and I was reminded how much I love it there. So in the interest of science (domestic science silly!), I thought I would give you my favorite (ok, and not-so-favorite) things about Costco:

  1. Double-wide carts – It’s great to have room for my bags, purse, etc…but not so great to have it strewn everywhere because a certain nameless 3 year old decides to go exploring.
  2. Great prices on books – I picked up “Deceptively Delicious” for $14! Good thing I was at costco to pick up all kinds of veggies to puree (um, not yet)
  3. Samples – yeah, I used to think this was a great perk…til I had kids. I am not one that will ask for a sample for everyone, so the boys get to share, and I get to smell their breath afterwards.
  4. Ginormous bags of frozen goodness – between strawberries (a fav snack for mama), potstickers, stir fry veggies, and boneless skinless chicken (breasts and tenders), my freezer is pretty packed. The downside – no room for 79 mini cheesecakes!
  5. Does anyone EVER get out of there for less than $100?
  6. One word – HOTDOGS (I seriously never eat them otherwise)
  7. Always new stuff – did you know they carry Borghese now?
  8. Office Supplies – Rowr!
  9. The best Buttercream ever…(so I hear ;-) )
  10. Spices in bulk – especially taco seasoning and ranch dip mix – SO many uses
  11. Did you know you can buy a casket there? (or maybe it’s Sam’s)
  12. Did I mention NOT getting samples?
  13. Trying to find a place for 79 78 mini cheesecakes and all his friends (have NO idea how that got there!

What are your favorite/not-so-favorite things about Costco or Sam’s? Any goodies I should look out for?
