I am so excited Deanna is gracious (or rather brave enough) to let me post on the refined and internationally famous Apronista blog. I feel like I should have put on something classier then my clearance section Target sundress and dollar flip flops… (FYI we’re slummin’ it ladies) – the real purpose for this post is to announce the fun limey giveaway over at the Secret Stitch Club blog.

The Farm Chicks Cookbook
Those of you who have been around here for a bit know of my undying devotion to the Farm Chicks. They did one of our first giveaways, and have an amazing sense of style. You may have heard that they just came out with a new cookbook – and I just got mine Monday. It’s everything you can imagine and more! The Farm Chicks in the Kitchen has got recipes, stories, craft projects and best of all – an Apron Tutorial, complete with cake and cupcake appliques to put on your apron!
Serena and Teri have created a one of a kind book that not only looks pretty on your shelf, but you will definitely use! I am going to post the projects I do from the book – if you have it and try anything, post it to the Apronista Flickr group!
WFMW – Easy Crockpot Dijon Chicken

This is one of my family’s favorite meals, and is on the menu at least twice a month. It’s a great meal when you have a busy day!
Ingredients:
- Chicken – I use boneless, skinless chicken tenderloins that come flash frozen in a bag, and I use 2 pieces per person – this is plenty for dinner, plus a little bit of leftovers.
- 1 Cup Italian Salad Dressing – any kind will do!
- Seasoning – I use Paula Deen’s House Seasoning (1/2 C salt, 1/4 c each pepper and garlic powder – yummy on EVERYTHING!)
Put into crockpot, cool on low for 6-8 hours, high for 3-4.
About 30 minutes before serving, remove chicken and shred. Place back into Crockpot and add:
- one can Cream of Chicken Soup
- 1 C sour Cream
- 1 T Dijon Mustard (to taste)
Stir well, let cook another 30 minutes while you make rice (or noodles)
You can also make this without the Dijon, for a yummy Chicken Stroganoff

Impressive Christmas Dessert – Raspberry Charlotte
posted by Divine Domesticity
Light and fluffy, tart and sweet. It is a refreshing dessert that you don’t see around much anymore.
Raspberry Charlotte
Serves 8-10
Raspberry Cream:
3/4 cup raspberry puree (Blend Raspberries, add sugar to taste and then strain mixture)
1 1/4 cups heavy whipping cream
1 envelope of unflavored powdered gelatin
Raspberries for garnish
2 dozen ladyfingers
1. In a small bowl stir together the gelatin and 1/4 cup of the raspberry puree. Let the mixture sit for 5 minutes and then microwave for a few seconds to dissolve the gelatin. When the gelatin has dissolved, stir it into the remaining puree. Transfer the mixture into a larger bowl ontop of an ice bath.
2. Beat the cream until stiff peaks form, then fold it into the puree mixture (which is still resting over the ice bath).
3. Line your dish with the ladyfingers, adding your raspberry cream then another layer of ladyfingers, until you end with a smooth layer of the cream on top. Garnish with raspberries. Let it rest in the fridge for several hours.

Splash of OJ
7 Up or similar soda (to thin drink to your consistency liking)
