I love finding other people who love Taste of Home too! I was a photojournalist concentrating on food photography for a while and saw the magazine and thought it was just awful – for the food photography – it wasn’t fancy and artistic. Jump ahead 15 years and with more experience in the photography field and on the homemaking field and I just love the magazine – for it’s recipes and down home stories of cooks – and yes, the photography, which looks just like the food looks when you make it!

I used to get that magazine and I loved it! I loved reading it, but I never seem to cook anymore so it wasn’t worth getting.

My Mom always enjoyed the Taste of Home magazine… I love Cooks Illustrated, but I am lucky enough to view my Pop’s copies – it is a little too expensive for me.

Other than that, I love Cooking Light and Everyday Food. Probably Everyday Food most because they are simple recipes and often call for basic ingredients.

Kraft also puts out their own magazine for free (Food and Family). It is obviously an advertisement for their products, but there are some good recipes with ingredients you may already have on hand.
