Well, Christmas is over, and New Year’s isn’t really an indulgent holiday for me, so I have been doing some hunting around the web for diet advice, tips, tricks, etc…I plan on doing the weight watchers for the most part, but I have come across some great tools no matter what method you choose!
If you’re having trouble deciding which program to follow, check out Diet Television. I found this link on one of my favorite new (to me) blogs, Buzz Off. You pick the preferences you want in a diet, and it gives you 5 options to choose from! From there, I checked out the SELF Diet Club-it’s free if you subscribe to self, which I decided I needed to 🙂 , and has all kinds of charts, meal planners, exercise counters…
I also found a link to Hungry Girl, an amazingly cool site where the “hungry girl” has tips, ideas, polls and even a game called “Whack-a-snack”.
One of my favorite healthy meals is Chicken marinated in Italian Dressing, a little parmesan, and grilled with a bit of Paula Deen’s house seasoning (1/2c salt, 1/4c garlic powder, 1/4c pepper), brown rice and veggies. Sooo yummy. We’ll probably have that at least once or twice a week. Any more and DH will protest 😀 . I usually make a little extra chicken and put it on a salad the next day. It’s also great on a half of a baked potato with a little lowfat ranch dressing or salsa….
Ok, I have made myself hungry…The Great Hot Mama project begins January 5th! See this post over at Mom-o-Matic for details and the list of participants!
I’m in
I was doing pretty good on WW, and then Christmas came along and screwed it all up! I’m ready to get going again. But not until after tonight, because I’m going out to dinner. 😉
I’m getting back to eating healthier on Jan 1st. Dec has kicked my butt!
I’m signing up, too. I definitely need this.
We’re starting the Pool again for any of your readers who want to go that route, you did so awesome with your 17 plus pound loss, you’re a great role model for how it works to go slow and steady!
I’ve been doing WW also, and it has worked very well, even through the holidays:o) I really need to get off my butt, and start exercising. Thanks for the links, I’m going to check them out!
that chicken sounds delicious!
I went over to mom-o-matic and joined, too. Feeling very heavy after the holidays!!!:???:
I have got to do WW because I need someone to weigh me in every week. But I’ve been browsing and may add some You On A Diet tips to the eating plan.
That chicken sounds sooooooo good!
I’ve also bookmarked those sites you mentioned.
I like ’em! 🙂

Best of luck and looking forward to the updates….
In the meantime, I wanted to drop by and wish you the very Best in 2007…

I love the Hungry Girl site..so cute!
Since I’m literally cooking chicken as we (speak?) I am so going with this recipe. Thanks!
I admire you guys! Am rooting for you.

At first, I thought that you were making a Paula Deen *recipe*. All I could think was, “Paula doesn’t do light recipes!”
I’ll have to give that a try!
Thanks for the heads up about Hungry Girl. It’s in my daily file now!
😀 I am with ya! I love your blog- it’s very pretty! I am calamity kim- just wanted to introduce myself and say hi! Chicken recipe sounds delicious!
I use the Paula Deen seasoning too on just about everything! Everything I make needs a little garlic powder.
Where are you?…miss ya!
Thanks everyone!
